Peter Giffen is a film professional with 23 years experience. A Editor/story editor of countless Award winning Documentaries, corporate films, TV series, commercials as well as digital media content for Canadian and US brands. Has also worked professionally in many other aspects of the business serving as producer, director, post supervisor and business owner.
He started Editfarm in Halifax in 1997 and is a proud member of the film and television community in Nova Scotia. His passion has always been telling stories with pictures and though the technology and tools have changed, his love for editing, technology and post-production remains strong.

EDITING

SICKBOY, a Feature length doc won a Nova Scotia Screen Award for Best Doc and was also nominated for Best Doc at the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards. His editing on THE SOCIAL SHIFT recently received the Best Editing award at the Atlantic Film Festival.
DIRECTING
We have been extremely fortunate to direct some sweet content for some amazing producers. Working with top notch crews and DOP’s is icing on the cake. Peter recently directed EAST HANTS – THIS IS US, a history of people, groups, and industries in East Hants, bringing his unique vision of rural Nova Scotia to the Atlantic Film Festival and to an online audience. He also directed HEART OF STEEL, a unique look at the history, tragedy and reclamation of the former Sydney Steel plant site and the people of the diverse community of Whitney Pier, NS
