Peter Giffen is a seasoned film professional with over 30 years of experience in post-production. As an editor and story editor, he has shaped countless award-winning documentaries, corporate films, TV series, commercials, and digital media projects for Canadian and U.S. brands.
Throughout his career, Peter has also worked as a producer, director, post-production supervisor, and business owner, bringing a wide-ranging perspective to every project he touches.
In 1997, he founded Editfarm in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has remained a proud and active member of the local film and television community ever since. His passion has always been visual storytelling—editing with intention and emotion. While the tools have evolved, his love for post-production and the creative process remains as strong as ever.

EDITING
Impactful storytelling, creativity, problem solving, teamwork, fast turnaround – that’s what makes the difference. Hundreds hours of French and English content with CONNEXIONS Productions in Halifax and Moncton, animated series ROBOFORCE with Nacelle toys, SICKBOY, a Feature length doc won a Nova Scotia Screen Award for Best Doc and was also nominated for Best Doc at the Canadian Screen Awards. His editing on THE SOCIAL SHIFT received the Best Editing award at the Atlantic Film Festival.
DIRECTING
We have been extremely fortunate to direct some sweet content for some amazing producers. Working with top notch crews and DOP’s is icing on the cake. Peter recently directed EAST HANTS – THIS IS US, a history of people, groups, and industries in East Hants, bringing his unique vision of rural Nova Scotia to the Atlantic Film Festival and to an online audience. He also directed HEART OF STEEL, a unique look at the history, tragedy and reclamation of the former Sydney Steel plant site and the people of the diverse community of Whitney Pier, NS
